The Opportunity

Filebase needed to break through in the Web3 space — boost brand recognition, engage developer communities, and grow their user base. They were up against a challenge familiar to any infrastructure company: the product was powerful, but awareness and adoption hadn't caught up yet. They needed a marketing approach that spoke directly to developers while showcasing their integrations with other Web3 technologies.

The Approach

Filebase had a powerful product but needed to prove it in the wild. So we started with a hackathon.

We co-produced a two-month developer competition with Filebase and Akash Network, challenging builders to create real dWeb applications using both platforms. $10,000 in $AKT tokens and $250 in free object storage on the line. It pulled in 16 high-quality project submissions — each one a live demonstration of what Filebase could do in the hands of actual developers.

While the hackathon was running, we activated influencers across Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn who were already embedded in the Web3 and developer communities — people whose audiences trusted their technical takes. The content they created drove organic conversation around the platform at the same time developers were building on it.

We also established 15+ partnerships across the Web3 and crypto ecosystem, co-creating tutorials, technical guides, and case studies with complementary brands. On the content and paid side, we targeted high-intent keywords to boost organic rankings and optimized campaigns across social, search, and display to lower acquisition costs.

The hackathon, the influencer program, and the partnerships all fed each other — developers were building on the platform, influencers were talking about it, and partners were co-signing it. All at the same time.
